The steps, explained
  1. Put the document under control. A WPS, drawing or procedure enters as a controlled document, with a revision and a status.
  2. Supersede, never edit. A new revision supersedes the old one; the previous copy is marked superseded and the history stays intact.
  3. The pack builds as you go. Because each document was controlled all along, the MRB/MDR assembles from them instead of being gathered at the end.

Two things live here. Document control is the discipline — controlled documents, revisions, who holds the current copy, and the link to the work a document governs.

The handover dossier is what that control produces: because every procedure, certificate and report was controlled all along, the sealed pack assembles as the work happens rather than being reconstructed at the end.
